As mentioned earlier on this site, Sederma is the source for some of the Telomere DNA Cell Cream’s ingredients.
When I started looking it up, I thought at first that Sederma was the ingredient! (Well, you have to admit that it does sound like an ingredient.) In actuality, Sederma is a major research & development firm based in France, and has been around since about 1964, and became part of a larger concern, Croda International Group around 1997.
So, we are not talking about some fly-by-night snake oil shop. We’re talking about a large firm that is a recognized international leader in researching and developing ingredients for the cosmetic industry. They have the following certifications: ISO 14001 in 2003, OHSAS 18001 (which it appears they received in 2007), and they have also been recognized as a Cosmetic Ingredient Good Manufacturing Practice.
The reason why Teprenone is so exciting is that studies are indicating that this peptide may be helpful in protecting the chromosomes. The US National Library of Medicine, National Institute of Health even says that “Peptide cosmeceuticals are one of the new, popular options to treat aging skin…(and) the evidence to support their use is growing…” You can see the abstract from the article here: http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/18045359
Anyway, Sederma wouldn’t be in business without being able to prove that their products are effective, and to that end, they use extensive in vitro, ex vivo and in vivo tests to do so.
The fact that Delfogo Rx– which is a US based company – will work with ingredients that are sourced from a company of Sederma’s caliber speaks volumes. They are in Florida (Miami area), and are an FDA and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) licensed laboratory. The company does not test its products on animals; rather, they prefer using real humans in their studies. Which is good. Because this stuff is going on human skin, not guinea pig skin. I’m smiling about that.
